1.) Do I need special equipment for the workshop?
A laptop is needed (Linux, Mac or Windows). If you don't have a laptop, you can use a workstation in the PC-lab. It is recommended that you have your own laptop, so that we will set the tools you need to continue working with G+Smo when you are back home.
